Dear Professor Bezdek:

Congratulations on your selection as the recipient of the 2007 IEEE
Frank Rosenblatt Award. As President Michael R. Lightner mentioned in
his letter of 27 June 2006, I am writing to advise the details of the
Award and plans for the presentation.

Description of the Award: The IEEE Frank Rosenblatt Award - sponsored by
the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society - recognizes outstanding
contributions to the advancement of the design, practice, techniques, or
theory in biologically and linguistically motivated computational
paradigms, including but not limited to neural networks, connectionist
systems, evolutionary computation, fuzzy systems, and hybrid intelligent
systems in which these paradigms are contained. The award consists of a
certificate, bronze medal and US$10,000.

Presentation Location: IEEE policy requires that its awards be presented
at major IEEE events that are in keeping with the nature of the award
and the cited achievement. Therefore, it is the recommendation of the
IEEE Board of Directors and the Awards Board that the award be presented
during the IEEE 2007 IEEE 15th International Fuzzy Systems Conference,
23 to 26 July 2007 at the Imperial College, University of London,
London, United Kingdom.
